The team at A1A Ale Works highlighted the importance of giving-back to the community by compensating the staff in return for their volunteerism when the restaurant closed its doors for a three week-long renovation. Staff members chose to volunteer for a variety of local St. Augustine and North Florida charities, including Habitat for Humanity, St. Francis House and the Beach Preservation.
Employees spent three weeks doing charitable work, including building a house for Habitat for Humanity and serving food at the St. Francis House soup kitchen. Others volunteered to help clean- up St. Augustine's famed shoreline.
A1A Ale Works re-opened to the public on Friday, February 1st, with a grand reopening celebration on Wednesday, February 6th.

Donations were accepted for both the St. Francis House and Habitat for Humanity during the event.
"The A1A Ale Works staff was a great team to work with," said Habitat for Humanity project manager, Gary Peterson. "They worked hard, showed good spirit and were lots of fun." |
